Major Shrinkage

Talk about shrinkage! Earlier in the locking process I thought I understood shrinkage because a few days after a fresh re-twist my hair would begin to curl back up. But now 7 months into this journey I know better. For the most part my locks have dropped (with the exception of just a few) and so when I wash most of them no longer curl up but they just hang. Looking back at my pictures my hair now looks shorter then when I started, or may be the same exact length, but definitely not any longer. So for those of you who are thinking about locking just know that there will come a time when your hair will look as if it is not growing. And the only way that I can describe it is that my locks are getting thicker and denser. They no longer curl and bend they way they did in the beginning. I am still however enjoying this process and I am excited see the continued changes.

  2. Shrinking is one of many processes that your locs will go through, but that's what makes locking fun, month by month and year by year it keeps on changin'! :)
